![]() Stirling University students Scott Duncan and Halle Pringle are top seeds in the men’s and women’s singles events when the 2020 West of Scotland Open championships start on Thursday. The championships, cancelled in August due to Covid-19, have moved indoors to the Scotstoun Leisure Centre and attracted most of Scotland’s top players and many from south of the border. 1st Round men’s matches are scheduled for Thursday with the women’s event planned to start on Friday. Duncan, winner of the British Tour event in Glasgow earlier this month, plays Edinburgh’s Philip Blythe in is opening match. The 35 & Over men’s draw will be played over Saturday and Sunday. Shield singles events will run alongside the main draw matches with all finals scheduled for Sunday. Due to government guidelines, all doubles events have been cancelled with current restrictions on indoor doubles play continuing until at least 2nd November. For the same reason, no spectators are currently permitted into the venue. The tournament forms part of Tennis Scotland’s 2020 Open Tour. Draws and scores can be found at West of Scotland Open
