6/10/2020 0 Comments West of Scotland Open - ResultsThe 2020 West of Scotland Open, usually staged in August but cancelled due to the pandemic, was rescheduled and played at the Scotstoun Leisure Centre at the end of October.
With no spectators permitted in the centre, nobody was there to appreciate the high standard of play produced by players. For the first time in the event's long history, there were no doubles events due to Covid-19 restrictions at the time. Congratulations to first time champions Calum MacGeoch and Anastasia Rentouli. In the men's singles final, MacGeoch fought back to beat Nicolas Rosenzweig 1-6 6-3 [10-7] with Rentouli beating fellow Stirling University student Halle Pringle 6-2 6-2 in the women's final. Alexander Halsey won the 35 & Over men's title with a final win over Aberdeen's Scott Martin. |
